Welp, it's that time again. Everyone's faaaavorite day of the week: Monday.
At least the blogging world is back to life!
Does saying that make me the biggest nerd in the world?
Nevermind...don't answer that.
I hope you all had a great weekend!
Mine was spent relaxing and watching my mom's dogs with Colton while she and my stepdad are on vacation.
It was pretty fabulous doing a whole lotta nothing.
Tomorrow wraps up my South Dakota trip posts. Sorry to break it up into so many parts, clearly I took way too many photos.
On day 5 of the trip, Colton's parents had a barbecue at their house with about 30 of Colton's relatives. I was nervous to say the least because I've only ever met his parents, grandparents, and 1 cousin. I'm happy to report the barbecue went great and I loved getting to meet all of his family.
Day 6 was the busiest day of our trip. We started early in the morning by going to a nearby town, Hill "City." It is such a cute place and has lots of little wineries and fun shops. After doing a bit of shopping,we went to Custer State Park to see the buffalo! We spent the better part of our day touring the park and I absolutely loved it. On our way back to Rapid City, we stopped in Keystone for dinner. It's a little touristy town just a few miles from Mount Rushmore. If you're ever in Keystone, it's imperative that you buy the salt water taffy.
So. Freaking. Good.
Day 5:
Top: Old Navy, Shorts: Forever 21, Shoes: Old Navy, Necklace: eBay

Goofing around at a toy store in downtown Rapid City.

Colton's family.

Barbecue fun!

I was gone for seriously less than 5 minutes washing my face and brushing my teeth and came back to Colton sound asleep. Is it weird that I love watching him sleep? He's the cutest.
Day 6:

On Wednesday morning, we woke up to Colton's mom telling us we needed to help her with an emergency outside. This poor little fawn fell of their retaining wall into a fenced area and was frantically trying to get out. He was crashing into the fence and wall before Colton was able to pull back part of the fence so it could get out. Thank goodness it wasn't hurt!

Deer just hanging out in Colton's yard on Wednesday morning.

Colton's mom and I looked through old photo albums and I just had to share some pictures of baby Colton. Isn't he the cutest?

Hill City Harley Davidson.

Yup.

My new pretty ring from Colton :) And no, it doesn't mean anything! (Just that he loves me.)

Sylvan Lake inside Custer State Park. Seriously the most beautiful lake ever.

So pretty!

Custer has some of the best rock climbing in the world. And I was slightly terrified of driving through this tunnel.

2 hours later and we finally found the buffalo!

Ending our day in Keystone.
Come back tomorrow to see the final days of our trip!
It includes a fun festival downtown and a day at the lake.
