halloweenie

Yesterday as I was sitting in class, an idea popped into my head.
Hopefully, it's a good idea...but that's entirely up to you.
Through the month of October I'll be holding a blog costume contest.
Have I mentioned I'm totally obsessed with Halloween?
As in, I've already bought two costumes for this year and don't even have plans yet.

Here's how it will work:
You send me your photos in a Halloween costume to sophistifunkblog@gmail.com.
The photos can be from your childhood or recent. Funny or creative.
There are no specific rules other than you need to be dressed in costume.
And please, let's keep it PG-13.
I'll pick my top 3 favorites each week and they'll be featured on my blog on the Wednesdays leading up to Halloween. (October 10, 17, & 24)
In the comments section, you'll pick your favorite of the week.
On October 31 (HALLOWEEN!), I'll announce the three finalists (the winner of each week) and you will vote via comments on which costume is your favorite.
The winner gets an XL ad on my blog (valued at $20) for the month of November and a $50 credit to my shop.

And because it wouldn't be fair for me to ask you for your Halloween costume photos without showing you a few of mine...
Yes, I was a pumpkin rocker.
Don't pretend like you haven't wanted to be one.

I've got a few lovely bloggers here today and they're pretty fabulous.

So fabulous, in fact, that they'll be showing you their favorite costumes too.

Hi there, Sophistifunk friends!
My name is Meagan and I have a personal style blog called Because of Jackie.
I adore shopping, love combing through style blogs and magazines for inspiration and love sharing it all with my readers. Personal style is something I can do just for me. A place to be anyone I want to be on any particular day.
So come on over here and say hello and stay a while, why don't you? I promise I won't scare you with crazy/unaffordable/out of reach style that 99% of us can't have.
Oh! Join me on Twitter, too. Follow me on Pinterest. Aaaand Instagram (meagan_rigney.) I'll love you forever. Promise!
P.S My Halloween plans? Following my (sugar high, candy obsessed) kids around my neighborhood with a sippy cup of wine (for me, of course!) A girl's gotta have some fun, right??

Hi Sophistifunk readers! I'm Whitney and I blog over at Katy Goes Boom. I write about my daughter 'Boomer', fashion, beauty, and life as I see it. I love Boomer (of course), the Ohio State University Buckeyes, nail polish, and I've never met a book store I can walk out of empty handed. Last year for Halloween I dressed up as a devil. This was a serious issue for my mom, so I won't be repeating, but I haven't decided yet what I will dress up as. Any suggestions?

Hey there gorgeous Sophistifunk readers! (How cute is Brie's new shop?? I am seriously obsessed with those skull bracelets!) But before I get too distracted, let me introduce myself: my name is Jenn and I blog over at Girl Defying Gravity I write about all sorts of random things including my favorite way to get muddy, my least gravity-defying moments,  and the battlezone in my backyard. Come on by and say hi! And have a Happy Halloween (cause dressing up never gets old!)
---------------------------------------
That's all I've got for today.
Come back tomorrow, I've got a pretty special post planned :)

And don't forget to email me your costume photos: sophistifunkblog@gmail.com

P.S. It's Ty's 5th birthday today.
Don't forget to wish him a happy birthday
And please, please, please pray for a miracle for this incredible little boy.
Or if you're not the praying type, send positive thoughts for Ty's healing.

LOVE that idea! One year when I was young, I was an "Allie" Cat.. I have tights and a little leotard and the ears and painted whiskers! I even had a boa pinned to my butt for a tail. On our way to leave to trick or treat, my tail got caught in the door and I quickly became a bobbed-tailed cat. My 5 year old self was so upset because we didn't discover it until much later! I wish I had a picture of that! I do have a good one from another year I will send your way!!

Hey girl,
I really love this idea! I would not normally send in pictures of myself in a costume but I LOVE Halloween, now if I could only get a hold of them...
Also - I read Ty's story yesterday and cried my eyes out. I am praying for him and I am dealing with Cancer closely in my family right now and I share your sentiments - F u cancer.
