the gold party

First off, I'd like to say thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for all of your support and orders from my new shop.
I've gotten a few emails asking if I would be restocking the bracelets that are sold out and the answer is yes, I'll have most of them restocked by early next week :)
I'll be shipping all of the orders placed this week on Friday.

This past weekend I attended The Ronan Thompson Foundation's Gold Party.
It was an event to honor the memory of Ronan Thompson and raise money for building a world-class neuroblastoma research and care center.
I've spoken about Ronan and his mom, Maya, on the blog a few times. (here and here)
Ronan was a little boy that died three days before his 4th birthday from neuroblastoma, a form of childhood cancer.
In the sixteen months since Ronan's death, Maya has done everything in her power to create awareness for this awful disease.
She also created The Ronan Thompson Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for neuroblastoma.
She's worked so hard that celebrities have started to take notice.
Taylor Swift recently wrote a song entitled "Ronan" and performed it on the Stand Up to Cancer Telecast. (Buy it on iTunes, proceeds go to cancer charities.)
And just last week, Katie Couric reached out to Maya and asked her to be on her new show.
Amazing, right?
You can read Ronan's story here.

Ellen, me, Maya (Ronan's mom), Makenzie (my sister), and Adele (Ellen's mom) at the Gold Party.

Here are a few of the scenes from the night:
(It was so sparkly and fun just like Ronan would've wanted)
As you can see, Maya and The Ronan Thompson Foundation did such an amazing job putting the event together.
I can't wait to go again next year!

And I'll leave you with this...

YOU GO GIRL!! I am a firm believer in standing up for what you believe in and giving back to the community in any way you can. What Maya is doing is absolutely incredible. I am in awe of her strength. The story of little Ronan is nothing short of heartbreaking and I know he would be so proud of all of these efforts.

Thanks for sharing and have a great day!!

You look like your having a blast while kicking something so terrible to the curb! I wish we had more events like this around where I live but I love seeing others my age attending them.

Great outfit and great post!
